ibw (Institute for research on Qualification and Training of the Austrian Economy) - Coordinator
The ibw was founded as an association by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and the Federation of Austrian Industrialists in 1975. The core of the ibw's staff are well experienced scientists in the field of vocational research, including engineers, graduates of sociology, educational sciences, social and commercial sciences and psychologists. The results of its scientific works are published in a monthly newsletter called "ibw-Mitteilungen" the quarterly "news" (in English) and in the research paper series called "ibw-Schriftenreihe & Forschungsberichte". According to the subjects of applied vocational research the objectives of activities are rather manifold: Many studies focus on the apprenticeship training in the dual system, a combination of inplant vocational training and compulsory public vocational schooling, now running in nearly all economic branches. Additionally the ibw develops pedagogical and didactic concepts according to the framework of in-plant training but also designs practical guidelines to facilitate the realisation from essential qualificational demands into practical training-steps. Other points of main interest are performed by labour market analyses and qualificational research. Furthermore there are ibw-studies on school education (secondary level), at universities or at "Fachhochschulen" (universities of applied sciences). Other activities embrace research and documentary work on educational counselling, vocational guidance and career planning. Since its foundation the ibw has carried out numerous surveys in the field of vocational adult education and training. Last but not least scientific projects focussing on education policy and vocational training in the European Union and in Austria play a more and more important role. Ibw is the coordinator of LaBooM since January 2007.

The Fernando Santi Basilicata is a non-profit training organisation working together with other European and national training agencies, national and local institutions and a large number of Small and Medium Enterprises. The name comes from Fernando Santi, a member of the Italian Parliament and a unionist, who worked for workers' emancipation. His great conviction was that workers, apart from pretending rights have to form and educate themselves. The Fernando Santi Basilicata is part of the National Institute F. Santi in Rome which promotes the education of workers and assists emigrants and immigrants.
With experience in the field of training and counselling for employed and unemployed Italian and European citizens, the Fernando Santi Basilicata offers programmes for young trainees who wish to study the Italian language and gain working experience in local companies. We are specialised in European work placements, students' exchanges, language teaching, Leonardo da Vinci Programmes, and professional training. Lifelong learning and mobility are essential to promote employability, active citizenship, social inclusion and personal development, therefore co-operation at European level within education and training is essential in creating the future European society. The major challenge in order to develop a knowledge based Europe is ensuring that the European labour market is open to all and that all citizens feel to live, act and work in a larger setting. The bases of Europe lay in the capacity of its citizens to integrate within a United Europe as individuals and workers, to know, understand, accept and share differences and similarities. This is why our programme aims at contributing to the development of individuals, conscious that there is a great demand from students, workers and youngster to be culturally and socially integrated in this new scenery.
Our activities are focused upon Education and Training in Basilicata and Campania (Italy) such as:
